“While it doesn’t deliver on its Camaro-esque looks, the Chevrolet Blazer is responsive and composed on the road. Base models of this two-row mid-sizer come with front-wheel drive and a four-cylinder engine, though shoppers can select both all-wheel drive and a more powerful V-6 throughout much of the lineup. The six-cylinder provides adequate grunt and a throaty soundtrack for highway merges and passing drills, but it consumes fuel more quickly than we’d like.”
The folks at Car and Driver also make a trim level recommendation:
“We’d select the Blazer 3LT and upgrade to the optional V-6, as it provides more power and a better exhaust note than the turbo four. That trim also comes standard with blind-spot monitoring. Adaptive cruise control remains an extra-cost option, as part of a package which includes built-in navigation, a wireless charging pad, a 120-volt power outlet, a Bose eight-speaker stereo, and a 360-degree camera system.”

“The Blazer is one of nine SUVs—seven gas-powered and two electric—that Chevrolet sells right now, so you’d be forgiven for getting it confused with one of the others. The midsize Blazer is as large as a Chevy gets without going to three rows, though the Blazer is smaller than some other midsize crossovers like the Honda Passport. And if you opt for the performance-themed RS, the Blazer manages to be one of the sportier options in its class, with poised handling and quick acceleration.”
